A QUICK AND EASY FACIAL CARE GUIDE FOR GUYS

If you think a facial skincare regime is something that’s just for women, you’re not alone. A lot of guys think this way…and a lot of guys are missing out on the benefits of instituting this kind of routine in their daily lives. The truth is that guys’ faces are subject to a lot more abuse due to constant shaving, trimming, and dealing with bristly, irritating facial hair. Taking the time to properly care for your face will mean fewer breakouts, less problems with ingrown hairs, and a fresher, more energized appearance every day. If you’re already rushing through your daily routine, we’ve got good news: a face care regime won’t take more than a few minutes, and you’ll notice the results all day long.

Tip 1: Clean Your Face – Washing your face at least once a day is important. Some guys can get by with twice a day, but others will find this too drying. If this is the case for you, wash with a cleanser before bed at night and simply splash your face with water when you shower in the morning. Avoid using hot water and make sure to use a cleansing product that’s specific to your skin type. A cleanser with glycol acid, salicylic acid, or benzyl peroxide works well on oil, acne-prone skin, for example, while a cleansing milk will help moisturize dry skin.

Tip 2: Exfoliate Away Dead Skin – Once or twice a week, use a skin care to exfoliate dead skin from your face. This will help prevent acne, as well keeping your hair follicles unobstructed in order to avoid painful and unsightly ingrown hairs.

Tip 3: Apply a Moisturizer – Finally, use a moisturizer every day to keep your skin looking and feeling its best. A heavier moisturizer with ingredients such as shea butter and argan oil works well for dry skin. While it may seem counterintuitive to moisturize oily skin, this can actually help prevent oil overproduction. That’s it! By taking a few extra minutes every day, you’ll start to notice visible results in the first couple of weeks as your skin grows healthier. (By Eddie from Unfinishedman.com)
